Work > A Look At Tomorrow

In 1985 a group of children ranging in age from eight to sixteen gathered in Cedar City, Utah to participate in an emerging youth program built upon conservative ideologies called the Young Marines under the supervision of Corporal Steve Jarvis. In August of 1986, Penthouse magazine published a short spread introducing their readers to the boys in Utah.

The breaking down of these images mimics the dissection of the issues at hand. This work illustrates the processing and reprocessing of thought, the cobbling together of multiple identities, and a representation of the technical process. The print acts as a present representation of an absent, or past, occurrence. This series exists as a reminder of what has been and what is to come.

This series was exhibited at The Loft at Neu Haus Press in Portland, Oregon. The Loft is a pop-up gallery dedicated to exhibiting print-centric works.
